Missed 2 court dates for driving violation... Now what? |
My co-worker is in trouble. just foudn out that GC services charged him $950 for just speeding. Anything he can do to reduce this and is there still warrant for his arrest? Failure to comply will result in a finding of guilty, a warrant for failure to appear, and a possible suspension. Contact the court as soon as possible, and try to work something out. There's no such thing as a small ticket, and they only get bigger if you ignore them. fines turn into warrents yes they prolly have a bench warrent out for his arrest.. juss call the court and find out if you got a court date or not... good luck Once you fail to pay a ticket or miss a court date, a warrant is sworn out for you. He now has at least two. If he gets stopped, he will be arrested and the car towed. Amount of the fines is irrelevent as far as a warrant goes. Comes down to "if you break the law, you pay or they catch up with you". When you receive a ticket you are required to sign it, not to admit guilt, but to acknowledge receiving it. The ticket also contains all the info you need to take care of the violation. This translates to, your "friend" should not have assumed anything. They may have issued a warrant but more than likely his drivers license is suspended which in some states is a very large fine and a bunch of running around to do to get it taken care of. He needs to have someone with a valid license take him to the local drivers license office and get a copy of his drivers history run to see what is on it. They should be able to tell him what he has to do at least on their end to get his license reinstated if it is suspended. He is going to have to go to each place he got a ticket and pay the fine there also. Tell him if he dosent want to "freak out" in the future he needs to avoid getting tickets or at least pay them when he does get them. |
