What can I do legally about a pharmacists breaking of HIPPA? Can I sue?

My GF had her birth control prescription filled at a pharmacy that her brother's fiance worked at. She is from a Catholic family and her brothers fiance saw the prescription and called her mother and some other members of her family. She was kicked out of her house and is now living with me and my family.

We had a pharmacy tech come forward and tell us that she witnessed her brother's fiance telling the mother on the phone. Isn't this illegal? Can the pharmacist get in much trouble? It has really been hard on my GF since her family has disowned her pretty much now!

This is a question Id ask my family doctor they would know right answer and her bros fiance could possibly loose her job over this. She just wanted to cause trouble and she did
