Abscessed tooth puss bubble popped?

Three weeks ago I visited my dentist with the concern of an abscessed tooth. He gave me a prescription of penicillin for 10 days; which I completed. I still had the slight bump after taking all of my pills, but I was unsure of whether to call my dentist. Anyway, fast forward to tonight and the puss pocket popped. There was you know, puss, and some blood along with it. I'm afraid that I'll die because I swallowed some of the puss. Should I call my dentist? I'm pretty freaked out right now.

You aren't going to be hurt at all. This is your body's way of healing. However, unless the offending tooth is either removed or has a root canal the abscess will eventually come back. Each time the infection will eat away more of the bone.

You won't die. Call your dentist to make another appointment to make sure that everything's okay with your teeth. Gargle with salt water to prevent anything getting into the site of infection.
