Kids dad, hasnt turned up for them again?

he was slurring his words and drunk earlier this morniong, and decided he wanted to see the football more than call for his kids. Then he promised to call over, and hasnt showed, after telling them on the phone he would be there. I really dislike this nasty little alcoholic, and if he does this...surely its more damaging to my kids than if he didnt see them at all. is a clean break with no access the best way forward ?/ my kids are all over the place because of him, and i call him an alcoholic coz he lost his new job this week after one hour of employment...due to being drunk on the premises. help please..i hate him so much i cant see clearly.

i feel for you, he is a waste of space,
unlike me, i would love to see my kids, but their mother has a new man and he wont let them come to see me, i send them money each week, but i have been told he keeps it, been to court no good, i only have photos of them that was taken 3 years ago i keep them next to my heart,
lets hope one day their father will wake up and face his responsibilities

Please try to keep this from the kids. If he doesn't turn up, take them out yourself and treat them. It will do no good for them to see him drunk, so go to social services or whoever and courts and arrange that he has supervised access only. Explain your fears and they will take you seriously. I suspect he will not bother. Hopefull he will get his act together when he sees what his behaviour is doing, but maybe not. Try not to turn the kids against him though even though it is difficult. He will do that for himself and they have nothing to blame you for.

i would seek legal assistance, explaine whats going on and get an order that prevents him from having access to your children until he has gotten treatment for his alcoholism, depending on your children's ages i would not discuss the matter with them without a counsillor present, they may not understand and shoot the messenger so to speak! i know it is tough, but you really must be strong in this terrible situation for your children's sake.. good luck!
