Text him or not? need advice before tonight?

Met a great guy and we hung out all night two days ago and ended up kissing for a while. He texted me yesterday but I didn't end up going out so I told him to call me today. Well I got a new phone and of course it wasn't working all day so I have no way of knowing if he called or texted me. I'd like to see him tonight but I don't want to be too forward. should I just go out with my other friends or should I get over playing games and text him to come out?

*silly question i know but any advice is appreciated

I would text him and ask if he was the one by any chance who called you... I would just say you're phone hasn't been working right, and something like, if he left a message, you haven't received it because of trouble with your phone. You've missed some messages from some friends and just checking to see if he tried to contact you.
See if he answers back and what he says. This way you don't seem too eager to see him. Then if you feel that he is eager to see you or hear from you, there is nothing wrong with inviting him tonight.

Personally, considering your phone has been off all day, I would give him a friendly call instead of texting... Meaning, already make up your mind that you are going out with your friends, but just give him a call to see what he is up to....

Also, if you get his answering machine, I would not leave a message, and make sure you only call once. Meaning, you do not want to run the risk of give the impression of being needy....
