It never happened... or did it?

Every team has had a MAJOR break in a big game at one point or another which was a blatant mistake or "fix" by the refs that if it had gone down differently the game would have gone in a completely different direction. We all know that when it happened if it was your team you swore up and down that it was legit and the right call... but later down the line once it is all said and done you can now reflect back on that moment in time and admit, it was the wrong call. So, who is your team and what was it that you now look back on and can admit was a totally blown call? I'll go first...

2001 AFC playoff game against the Oakland Raiders... the infamous "Tuck Rule". At the time I was in a house full of Raider fans and as the lone man wearing the Pats colors I nearly lost my life that night swearing up and down that it was a legit forward pass. Today... I admit that it was a blatant fumble and the Raiders were robbed.

mattapan26: No I am actually a Patriots fan... I just don't have my head in the clouds and know a fumble when I see one. I've seen the replay thousands of times and not one time do I see an incomplete pass. Vinatieri was on the money, but that my friend was a fumble.

I am a Raider fan, and that was a bad rule, not really a bad call. walt had called it a fumble, and the people upstairs had him change it because of the rule.

Anyway the bad call I will admit to. was against the Pats playoffs 1975 in Oakland when the pats got a 15 yard penalty for roughing the passer on Ken Stabler! They didn't even tough Stabler and it was on 4th and 12 late in the 4th with the pats ahead by 3. Without that call the pats win the game because they would have taken over at the 43 yard line and ran out the clock.
Instead Oakland went on to score the game winning TD with 13 seconds left . Bad call.
I have 100's of bad call stories, must of which have gone against the raiders.

Charles Woodson hit Brady in the head with his open hand before the tuck/fumble on that play. It should have been a 15 yard penalty and a 1st down - Unsportsmanlike Blow to the Head. The Patriost were stuck with 4th and 10 or whatever it was. The Raiders got lucky on that non-call, all things considered

According to the rules that was a forward pass... it should be a rule taken out of the books, but it was the right call at the time. When I saw... I thought it was a fumble, but that was because I never really knew about the rule. After looking over the rule and seeing what it entailed.... yeah, it was the right call.

Superbowl LX. Although I am a Steelers' fan, and was happy to see it, that was definitely NOT offensive pass interference in the end zone by Darrell Jackson. Don't know how much difference it would have made, but Seattle should have had a TD at that point.
