Help a confused young man who loves his gf?

Okay my girlfriend says she has this, idk what to call it, but a disorder with her vagina. Apparently she is unable to have sex because if she did something in her vagina would start to bleed and she would bleed to death. But to me that seems a little extreme. This is all coming from her mom since her mom told her it. Her mom also told her that her aunt has the same problem but her aunt has down syndrome if that makes any difference. Now i know she is being straight forward with me and not telling me this because she doesn't want to have sex since i don't either. Were only in high school and its not time yet. I would just like to know more about this so called disorder.
Also her mom told her that the only way to fix it, is with surgery so im not sure if she is telling her this just to scare her or what.
So any answers would be appreciated!!

Also she is yet to have her first period. She is 16 and i know thats not normal.

Wow.. I have never heard of anything like that. I also don't understand how her mom could tell her all of this... Wouldn't this require a doctor to diagnose? And the doctor would definitely discuss the problem with your gf. Basically, I think your gf's mom is using this as a psychotic way to keep your gf from having sex.

If your gf has not had her period at the age of 16, she definitely needs to go to the doctor anyway, so while she's there, she can inquire about the alleged bleeding disorder.

The concept of bleeding to "death" after having sex seems like the biggest crock of **** I've ever heard, unless you're having sex with a young child, or have a strap on with a blade attached to it. Even with those instances, death is still highly unlikely.

I agree with the advice that she should consult a doctor on her own. It's not unheard of to start a period that late, but it sometimes can be due to problematic conditions. While she's at it, she can talk about this alleged "condition".

I have never heard of someone Bleeding to death from consensual sex. It could be just something her mom said to scare her into abstaining.

OR

She could have cervical dysplasia
but this usually happens when you are sexual active.

Or

She could have cervical polyps
Cervical polyps are smooth, red or purple, finger-like growths that grow out of the cervix or the cervical canal. Cervical polyps are extremely fragile, extending out of the cervix.

Both of these conditions still wouldn't cause bleeding to death. I think it is just a scare tactic.
