Vagina disorder?

Okay my girlfriend says she has this, idk what to call it, but a disorder with her vagina. Apparently she is unable to have sex because if she did something in her vagina would start to bleed and she would bleed to death. But to me that seems a little extreme. This is all coming from her mom since her mom told her it. Her mom also told her that her aunt has the same problem but her aunt has down syndrome if that makes any difference. Now i know she is being straight forward with me and not telling me this because she doesn't want to have sex since i don't either. Were only in high school and its not time yet. I would just like to know more about this so called disorder.
Also her mom told her that the only way to fix it, is with surgery so im not sure if she is telling her this just to scare her or what.
So any answers would be appreciated!!

Sounds like crap to me. I would think if she has a bleeding disorder, cutting her open surgically would harm her, not cure her.There is a bleeding disorder called hemophilia where you bleed excessively when cut, but it's very rare for women to get it. If she does have it, she'd bleed a lot any time her skin broke regardless of how small of a nic it was. She'd be on medication to promote clotting. I found some info for you. hopefully it'll answer some questions for you, but it really sounds like a scare tactic to me. Oh, I almost forgot about Von Willebrand's Disease! It's a bleeding disorder (in the same family as Hemophilia), that affects females just as much as males, and is also hereditary. I found some info on it for you, sorry it's a kid's health link. It said it in the simplest terms, the rest can be pretty complicated to the the layman.

I still don't see how a disorder that make you bleed excessively, would prevent one from getting their period.... A period is just the shedding of the lining of the uterus, it's not blood from the blood stream. I'm stumped on that one. If you ever find out, please email me, even if it's a long time from now. This is interesting (if it's true).

Hmm...sounds bogus to me. Maybe she is referring to her hymen? Although there would be no way of her mom knowing if hers was intact (they can be stretched or broken by tampon usage, exercise, etc.). And it doesn't require surgery to remove!

That sounds weird...You should encourage your girlfriend to go a doctor without her mother present and find out the truth. I have never heard of this. Does she use tampons?? If she can use a tampon I don't see why she couldn't have sex. But, again, she really needs to go to a gyno and get checked out to be safe.
