Why am I only getting $453 for my ecomonic stimulus payment? If my annual gross income is only $37,050?

I've tried to call and the irs says they won't answer my questions until June (thats what the automated answer machine said) and the only think I read on IRS.GOV is that the payment will be reduced after $75,000 AGI. I filed a 1040 and everything was pretty straight forward. I have no exemptions and I own my home with an interest only loan, thats the only thing special on my taxes. My gf made about $33,000 and she's getting $600 back. I just want to make sure this amount is correct, it is free money after all.

The rebate was based on a floating amount between $300 and $600. Since you got $453--which is more than $300, it means you were limited to your actual tax liability.

You only paid $453 in taxes, so that's all you get back. Gee, $0 taxes for 2007, that's pretty darn good for making $37,050.

*****They also send you a statement which tells exactle how they arrived at your amount. You're correct though, it is free money, so I wouldn't complain!
