Whats the easiest way to let someone down that is so excited to go see a movie, but your not up for it at all?

A guy from work wants to go see a movie with me and he keeps saying h ow excited he is and how he has been looking forward to it all week. Well now the day has finally come and I really just don't want to go.

I just got out of a four year relationship and me and this guy have already gone and gotten something to eat. I've been single for a week. I just feel sick and not wanting to do anything.

The guy keeps saying your going to stand me up aren't you and the thing is I almost want to, because im just not feeling up for it. I was feeling up for it everyday except for this day.

So how can I not go to this movie and not make it a problem at work?

This guy seems like he is expecting me to not like him and if he keeps asking me and pushing me the thing is I might start not liking him (as a friend).

I dread seeing him now, because he wants to call and text all the time.

Ive told him that im mentally and physically withdrawn and hurt and Im not ready for anything, but....

I do want a friend.
