Do you remember? |
When you were little and went to call your friends out to play...you'd go to the door and "sing/yell" their names instead of knocking on the door or ringing the doorbell? And even if their names only had one syllable (like Ray or Sue)....you'd still 'sing' it in two syllables... Rob M: It was called 'respect' and 'decorum'...and I can assure you that the world was a much happier place back then. But I won't hold your viewpoint against you because you really have no solid point of reference for it.... Yes yes, yes!!! I remember going next door to my cousin's house and yelling, "Oh, Rut-hie!" Hmmm. I wonder why we did that. I had totally forgotten. Thanks for the memory. i grew up in a place called Ridgeville.there were over a hundred kids one one mile long road.that was all there was to the neighborhood.no side streets.most kids didnt even get to go out of their yards.i did. when Daddy would go to work... but i didnt dare knock on a door ....the kids were always outside playing and i would stop off . that my dear RON M.was when my world was truly not IN A DIRE SITUATION! I do remember. I remember knocking and when my buddies moms came to the door I would ask " Can Allen or Bud or Alton come outside and play ?" I am sixty-seven and I have a friend who is seventy-two. I had great fun several months ago when I stopped by to see my friend and his wife came to the door. Yep, you guessed it. I asked her " Can Lee come outside and play? " We all had a good laugh. Don't tell me that you can not turn back the clock. i always went to the door and knock, but my husband was talking the other day how his friends would come over and yell o- Ronnie, Could it be a regional thing? He was from the north and I am from the south, but in no means would we walk into some ones house with out being invited. |
