Should I get a Divorce? |
i've married almost 5 yrs this past year my husband has just started to spend time with me although he's trying now I can't let go of the past and move forward. We have been arguing alot lately and in weakness I called an old boyfriend my husband went thru my phone and found texts from him. Now he wants a divorce should I just let it go or fight for my marriage. I've been married almost 5 yrs. My husband just started spending time with me this past year. Although our marriage has been rocky I still stuck in there. My husband has threatened to leave many times and although our relationship has gotten better I can't let go of the past. Lately we've been arguing alot and in weakness last week I reached out to an old boyfriend who lives out of state. We've only talked over the phone. My husband went through my phone and found texts from him now he wants a divorce. Should I really go through with it this time or fight for my marriage Well do you want to spend the rest of your life with him? Think about it? It seems to me that you have already given up. What were you guys fighting over? We need a little more info. Did he/you cheat? Yes, if you are not invested in this relationship you should not drag him along. You have to put into the relationship what you would want him to. You mentioned past hurts. In every relationship you will be hurt at some point. What you have to determine is how badly you want this marriage to work and if you are done, then let him know this. Don't string him along. It always comes back and usually it is worse for the person who doles it out. If you ARE willing to work through the past then you might need a professional to assist with this. See if he would be willing to go to a counselor. If you take this step though you should be sure that you both will be willing to put in the work. It all depends on how you still feel about your husband, do you still love him or are you just hanging on because it is familiar? If you can't work through the past hurt and anger you might have a big problem. Contacting an old boyfriend shows you were feeling hurt and neglected enough to go outside your marriage to try and find love and attention, not a good sign for a happy marriage. I think you already know the answer to your own question and I think it is no. Good Luck |
