Why do the refs hate the Flyers? |
I'm sorry but the officiating in game two of the Flyers vs. Penguins series was awful to say the least. The "hook" Hatcher commited is how you want to play defense, his stick was on the ice. The excuse of his stick between Malkin's legs is terrible because Malkin turned and he couldn't do anything. The goalie interference penalty was awful because Orpik pushed Briere into Fluery. Hatcher and Knulbe's crosschecking penalties were both weak calls. Knuble's was just a battle in front and all Staal did was fall forward a step. Hatcher's crosscheck was just a little love tap, the player wasn't even affected by it. There were also some none calls like Briere getting punched in the face, Carter being hooked at the blueline on his breakaway in the third, and the two none interference calls on Ruutu. I'm just astonished that Hatcher can play Malkin perfectly and stil get called, if that was any other player besides Malkin, Crosby, or Hossa thats not a penalty, they called it because he's a star The thing is Hatcher did not purposely put his stick in between his legs. The reason Crosby's goal did not count was because there was no visual evidence that the puck crossed the line, Biron's glove was blockeing the camera's view. In my mind I thought it should have been a goal. The Penguins also doubled the Flyers PP chances. I am a Wings fan and watched that game Sunday... Holy **** did the Pens get away with a lot. The goalie interference on Briere was blatantly the wrong call. Hatcher was getting penalties for defense. I'm glad I'm not a Flyers fan because I think if I was my TV would have been destroyed. The penalty on Hatcher "hooking" Malkin really ticked me off. That was a GREAT defensive play on one of the best players in the game. The VS guys proceeded to agree with the call after the replay... Hatcher's stick was totally inadvertently between Malkin's legs and didn't affect the play at all. Quit crying, you are embarrassing the rest of us Flyers fans. The Penguins are a very strong team, stronger than the Flyers on paper and the Flyers defense is in shambles due to injuries. They were underdogs going in and even bigger underdogs now, the officiating has absolutely nothing to do with it. the true question is do you hate the flyers? I know! This call was especially bad http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qS7nqwGt4... |
