Newbie iPod nano user - desperately need simple help?

I have just been given an iPod Nano - I'm totally stoked, but totally useless at this kind of thing. I live in South Africa, wghich means that iTunes Music Store is not available in this country - no surprises there !!

I just need some guidance on how/where to download music. I've been told about Limewire and something called "MagnetMix" - ????????????

I've really no idea where to start and even after going to the apple site etc - I'm still lost.

I wish there were web sites that are thge equivalent to "The Dummies Guide to....."

Pure, simple, straight forward, basic, understandable for the total novice !!

Help... ??????

Download iTunes if you didn't already, because you need that to sync the songs to your iPod. I LOVE limewire, you can find just about anything there. Here's some sites that I really like for downloading music (and they're all free):

Once you download something you like, open iTunes and go to file, then import file if there's one song to add or import folder if you have a whole folder to add.

You don't need the iTunes music store unless you're really desperate to buy music from Apple. You may need to install the Itunes software on your computer, but there are alternatives to that as well - google "itunes alternative"

Once you have a download manager (iTunes or otherwise) you can copy **any** mp3 file from your computer to your ipod. You can also burn tracks from a CD.
