Some advice please!?

Hey,

2moro night im set to go on my first date with a gorgeous young lady I met at my local bar - this is the first date I have been on since the split with my partner of 8 years (5months ago)

Having been with someone 8 years you forget what it was like to go on dates and im a little nervous if im honest!

It was me that approached her in the bar and asked for her number and then called her and asked her out to dinner..so I feel I am the one who has to make the most effort 2moro..and im worried she might think im dull and boring!

She must have liked me to have given the number though right? Do you think she is nervous too - she says shes looking forward to it!!

What should I expect from a first date and what if I get an awkward 'silence' at some point??

By the way Im a male and 27 years of age...if that helps

make a list of random questions
don't keep the list with you because that'd be weird
just remember some and use them at appropriate times

She probably is a little nervous too, I always get a bit nervous on a first date. Tell her the truth be honest, but don't talk about your ex all night or compare her to your ex. Just be a gentleman, keep the conversation going, have a bit of wine and relax, don't try way too hard. Don't say "so tell me about yourself" I hate that one, ask her more specific questions. Get there earlier that her and familiarize yourself with your surroundings and then be a gentleman and wait for her before being seated. Good Luck!

you're right she must've liked you, which she does, she says she's looking forward it, believe her. you seem like a prety nice guy to me so i think that you should just let you personality take over, plus its always good to be nervous (Y). I think and hope it goes great.

Try to stay true to yourself. Be a perfect gentleman by holding doors and all that good stuff. Show her that your not just into getting into her pants. Just go with the floor learn more about her and dont do anything stupid. Think before you speak and try to avoid awkward silences.

Then again just be yourself and go with the flow.
