Call Of Duty 4 port forwarding?

I can't play call of duty 4 online because it keeps freezing up. Activision said that i need to forward ports on the router. They said that cod4 uses ports 3658, 3478, 3074, 3075 (UDP) and ports 80, 443, 5223 (TCP). Please tell me how i do this and which of those numbers i use.? Thanks.

It refuses to even connect to any game. It freezes up when i enter the lobby.

In your web browser, open your router's setup page. This could be http://192.168.0.1/ or http://192.168.1.1/ or http://192.168.2.1/ or several others - check the manual.

Then look for settings like "port forwarding" or "virtual servers". You'll need to forward the port numbers you were given to your computer's IP address on your network.

Edit: also make sure your firewall software is allowing COD4 access to the internet

http://www.portforward.com/ This is a web site that has guides to opening ports. It gives you detailed instructions and is fairly simple to follow, it usually has just about every type of router there is and the IP address that is required to access them and make the changes needed.
Click the "Guides">Click the "Port Forwarding guides by Router" and then select your router on the next page and from there you can figure it out.
Read all instructions carefully and understand them, if not you can end up needing to completely reset the router to get internet back. No big deal though, most have a reset button on them or just nplug for about 30 seconds to a minute to reset them.
