My school is making me take out my piercing! help? |
I go to a catholic private school. Last year at the end of the school year i got my tongue pierced with my parents permission. i got it during exams so that i could write it and go and i wouldn't have to talk to anyone much. i've come back for the new school year and after two months they've been complaining about it. they made a new rule against them. they told me to take it out in front of the whole school but i said i would but i didn't. i always wore clear balls but that wasn't good enough so i started wearing a retainer..the prefects started picking on me always calling me forwards and making me stick out my tongue to see and i never had it in but they said someone said they saw it which i don't believe because its practically invisible...and they said if they see it i'll get straight friday detention. even the head of department is doing it now...i asked them if i cant even wear a retainer and they said no.... I HAVE TO KEEP IT IN OR IT WILL CLOSE. But...there is a girl in final grade that has one. its a silver one and you can clearly see it. she's had it for even longer for me and she never gets into trouble...my friend said her parents wrote a letter to the principle...i find it unfair that they wont let me wear a retainer as so many girls have upper ear piercings and wear brush bristles through them. and girls with belly rings. you cant see them but they're still there and they not made to take them out. you cant see my tongue ring with a retainer and its still there but they making me take it out! i find that unfair...what should i do and what should i say to the school?? i'm not letting this get in the way of my education but i'm still refusing to take it out...it also cost alot to get it done also do you think this is fair. no rude answers please. The key point of your posting is that it is a private school. You pay to go to this school, so you play by their rules. Is it right? I don't think so, but they have the right to enforce any dress code they see appropriate, and if you don't like it, they can not admit you. Have your parents right the letter to the principal. Maybe try having your parents write a letter to the principal. If one student is allowed to have a tongue piercing, then that should be the policy for all. have your parents write a letter to the principal. do what the other girl did...have your folks back you up on it........stand strong dude your not in the wrong |
