Wanting to date a girl you haven't seen/talked to in a long time...?

This girl I know was recently dumped by a guy that she dated for a couple years, it's been about a month now. But it's been like 3 or 4 years since i've even seen this girl in real life (other than photos from facebook, myspace etc) let alone talked to her. I've posted on her facebook like once (recently) and got positive feedback from her but I don't even think she realized I was kinda hinting I like her. The girl is gorgeous so I know guys are kinda always trying to ask her out and talk to her etc...While my intenstions are extremely good, i'm hesitant to even contact her at all. I think she is too good for me personally but on the other I figure what have I got to loose? The only thing I kinda "fear" is getting turned down and her friends finding out b/c most of them know who I am. Which would be kind of humiliating. Am I being too immature about this or what? If I were to contact her should I just flat out call her or do something less forward??

on the other hand, you may end up humiliated

the question is, is the positive outcome outweighed by the negative or vice versa? Would you feel worse never having asked and never knowing?

If the worst happened, you would get over it!!
