Am I supposed to have an emotional crisis in order to be saved? |
Tears running down my cheeks, coming forward at the altar call, raising a shaking hand when the pastor asks if I prayed that prayer with him just now? Tears come with joy too. Holy Spirit moves some people to tears of joy. I personally never cared for drama. That's just me. Report It No, you can be saved in your own bedroom with no tears. Just an honest heart will do. The Bible says that ALL those who call on the name of the Lord shall be saved. You just acknowledge your sins and acknowledge what Christ did for you at Calvary. Ask God to forgive you and turn from your sins. This is sometimes quite emotional when we are confronted with the magnitude of our own sins. When we know we have offended God and our spirits become broken. We are humbled by God's amazing grace. We are saved by nothing we have done.....just by the undeserved grace of God and the blood of the Lamb of God. You can be saved quietly in your own home. God does not care where you choose to call on Him and ask for salvation. Just that you do. If your heart is sincere, this is what God looks for. Some people are more emotional than others. But a repentant heart is a pleasing thing to God. Jesus died to free us from the bondage of sin. He made us victorious over sin at the cross of salvation. This is enough to shake up even the most unemotional person! But no, being emotional is not a requirement of salvation. Just sincerity and repentance in your heart. |
