I hurt my knee tendon?

About a year and a half ago; after seeing Rocky Balboa with my friend I jump over this structure that was in front of the theater (Parkour). I misjudged how long of a jump it was and when I landed, I still had forward momentum. This drove me to my knees, so I landed in a kneeling position (knees folded in half, sitting on your feet whatever you may call it). When that happened I felt PAIN and fluid rush to my Quad muscle right above the knee (I would say the quad tendon). I put ice on it ASAP, using my sock as a wrap. I tried to let it heal the best I could. But to this day it still hurts, as in I cannot half my leg/s all the way. I asked an athletic trainer about it and he said it might not have healed correctly. It probably healed with SCAR tissue, which is not as stretchy.
So my question is what do I do? I really rather not get surgery and be out of commission for so long. Probably costs a lot too If I stretch it everyday can it become flexible again?

You can certainly try to stretch it out and see if that helps, but if it is scar tissue then nothing much is going to help except surgery to remove it. Did you ever get the injury checked out? An impact like that could have caused a hairline fracture. I believe your best bet would be to get a referral for an MRI, this will truly let you know what's going on so that you can resolve this.
