He wants me to wait for him? Should I?

My now ex and I still have very strong feelings for each other. However my ex wants to take a break before our relationship goes any further. He keeps saying he's been in love before and he just needs to be sure this time. So he wants to "see what else is out there." But at the same time he wants me to wait for him to figure out what he wants. The truth is I don't want to date anyone else. I know the ladies will call me weak but if I'm honest I want to wait for him. I feel very strongly that this is the man I want to share the rest of my life with. My question is Should I? And what should I take from his need to step back from our relationship before he makes the commitment to move forward? A friend of mine suggested that he's also testing me. Guys if you have some explainations I'd appreciate them.

he wants to see what else is out there? yet you have to be faithfull to him? are you seriously gonna fall for that line....come on, you are his fall back plan, he doesnt love you. I know this sounds really harsh, but trust me, i've had my share of a$$holes too.....and nothing ever comes from them but more and more tears, you are better hurting yourself now by letting him go...than letting him hurt you over and over again with his constant leaving coming back and infidelity....cuz you know he's not gonna be faithful to you....and theres always that risk that with him sleeping around on you, you could reap the consiquences of his bad choices and catch an STD....even though you are being loyal and faithful...because as much as you would like it to be, your NOT in a monogamous relationship.
