How do I prove I was hit?

I came out to my car one morning for work and a girls front bumper was touching my back bumper. I pulled up a little to look and see if there was any damage and there was. I called the police to file a report and the cop must have been having a bad day because first he wouldn't write me anything and then he finally decided to write me a hit and run report, but included all this girls info in the report.

There is clearly damage to my car from where her license plate hit my bumper. The girl is denying it but my girlfriend saw the damage. The insurance agent is taking measurements of both cars, but I don't see how measurements can mean anything if all the conditions of the scene aren't taken into consideration. My assumption is this girl came to her boyfriends drunk and she didnt realize her car rolled forward into mine. And she told her insurance company her boyfriend was driving(and im sure hes not under the insurance) so how can they even be fighting this? How do I prove it?

You can't assume anything unless you witnessed the incident. If the damage is significant then let the insurance company continue its work in filing the claim. I think more than anything you just want this girl to own up to hitting you and apologize. A couple of scrapes isn't worth the stress and aggravation.

Sounds like a minor thing to me. If it is just a few scrapes and a small dent, just don't fret about it. It obviously was not a hit and run. If it rolled into you, it really wasn't anyones fault.
Remember, it could have been the other way around and you would want people to show you mercy.

Even if you prove damage, submit a claim and win, will it be worth it?
