How do I fix my husbands phone?

He has a motorola i530 nextel cell phone and I was messing with it last night and tried to set up the call forwarding. Well I decided that I didn't want it on so I set it to off. Well now his answering machine won't pick up and you can't get to the messages by calling it because it just goes to a busy signal. I've been trying to fix it for an hour now but can't! please help
