When is the best time to follow up? for job?

I did an interview yesterday. The law office is looking forward to hire someone as soon as possible. I told them that i can start immediately. is it okay to follow up on them today since they might need someone on monday? is it okay to follow up after a day? they might already have in mind if they are willing to hire me so is it okay to call them? and ask?

It is always better and in your own interest that the follow up letter, as the name itself suggests, should be sent immediately after the interview !!

If you had the interview yesterday, you should send a thank you note today. In that, you should include something like you look forward to learning their decision, and are available should they have any more questions concerning you qualifications. After that, give them at least a week before you call.

You should send a thank you letter as soon as possible, and within it, identify a date next week that you will call and follow up with them. Choose a date no earlier than 5 days and no later than 2 weeks.

For future reference, in the interview, ask what their timeline is; how many others they are interviewing; what the next steps are in the interview process. Then state a date based off that information on when you will follow-up with them.

Sending a Thank You note the day you return from the interview. Letting them know you appreciate the time they spent with you and that you are looking forward to coming on board with them.

I would wait about 3-4 days after the interview to follow up with a call

Absolutely you can call. I have done that many times. Just say you wanted to touch base and ask if they have reached a decision yet and if not, do they have any idea how much longer it will take?

I day is never too soon to follow up with an interviewing employer. It will show them that you really want the job, have initiative, ambition,etc.

It is doubtful that they will want someone to start Monday though, unless that is your 2nd or 3rd meeting with them.

Because of that, write a personalized "Thank you" letter and put it in the mail tomorrow. The person you sent it to will have it by Tuesday, at the latest. An email is OK, but a good, old-fashioned letter is still the best and most professional.

DO THIS: On Monday morning, get out of bed early, get ready for a work day in your business clothes and **hand deliver** a hand-written thank you note (plain, business like thank you note cards are available at places like Staples) to that interviewer first thing Monday morning! Do not leave it with the receptionist. Ask the receptionist to call the interviewer saying you are there and just want a couple of minutes of their time.

Your initiative and enthusiasm will really impress them!

You can do this - because you are exactly what that company needs!
