Super Bowl Call: Illegal Back Forward?

What the heck does that call mean? It was against the giants during the super bowl during the second quarter fumble.

As the guy said above, the fumbling team cannot hit/bat the ball forward in attempt to gain yards by way of the fumble. Some years ago, the Raiders needed a TD late in the game and scored one as time ran out by batting a fumbled ball into the end zone and diving on it.

Illegal bat forward.

The back batted the ball up with his hand.

It was illegal BAT forward.

One of those calls you might see every 5 years or so.
