First Amendment Battle Ensues
By 6:00 a.m., things began to heat up and get downright ugly.
Two Blue Star moms were threatened with violence and one was shoved by a Code Pink lady, and when the mom called the Berkeley police for help, they hung up on her. Another call to the police was made by someone else with the same response.
Melanie Morgan, spokeswoman for Move America Forward, was in the middle of her morning KSFO radio program, called in from the scene in Berkeley. She told me yesterday that she honestly could not believe what was happening, and might not have believed it if she had not seen it with her own eyes.
The scene she encountered was one of "near mayhem," she told me. Cursing, shouting, profanities being hurled at moms and dads waving small American flags in support of our armed services.
Cops did nothing. Time to muster a few thousand baseball bat wielding troops and stomp everyone including the leftist cops. That's why I suggested that the State and US Government go ahead and strip Berkeley of all funding, local and otherwise. These liberal "cities" of Berkeley and San Francisco believe that they can make their own rules and that all citizens have to abide by them or face serious consequences like what happened when the Code Pink domestic terrorists attacked the Blue Star parents of those proud servicemen.
They both act like communes (cults) such as Jonestown where liberal values rule, family values are non-existent, morals are frowned upon and our freedoms are abused by those extreme liberals in charge.
End funding for those cities, make Berkeley part of unincorporated Alameda County and make San Francisco part of unincorporated Northern San Mateo County. Both will have no public services, will have to abide by laws set by their respective counties and will just be "gray" areas on maps when people are searching for landmarks or businesses.
I hate seeing these leftist extremist liberals acting like they rule the World and are above the law. We Conservatives are much more civilized and even if we are harrassed by those types, we can act mature and handle the situations like adults. They'll be sorry because everyone knows what karma can do..... Berkeley is the perfect example of how the far-left believes the ends justify the means. War is always an economic event. Those flag waving moms and dads are effectively nothing more than promoters of U.S. imperialist aggression. Their support for imperialist war means that America's super-rich (who waged the war) will get richer and richer while the sons and daughters of the working class get to fight and die. War is capitalism in a nutshell. Socialize the expenses and privatize the profits.

War is a Racket

War is just a racket. A racket is best described, I believe, as something that is not what it seems to the majority of people. Only a small inside group knows what it is about. It is conducted for the benefit of the very few at the expense of the many.
I believe in adequate defense at the coastline and nothing else. If a nation comes over here to fight, then we'll fight. The trouble with America is that when the dollar only earns 6 percent over here, then it gets restless and goes overseas to get 100 percent. Then the flag follows the dollar and the soldiers follow the flag.
I wouldn't go to war again as I have done to protect some lousy investment of the bankers. There are only two things we should fight for. One is the defense of our homes and the other is the Bill of Rights. War for any other reason is simply a racket.
There isn't a trick in the racketeering bag that the military gang is blind to. It has its "finger men" to point out enemies, its "muscle men" to destroy enemies, its "brain men" to plan war preparations, and a "Big Boss" Super-Nationalistic-Capitalism.
It may seem odd for me, a military man to adopt such a comparison. Truthfulness compels me to. I spent thirty- three years and four months in active military service as a member of this country's most agile military force, the Marine Corps. I served in all commissioned ranks from Second Lieutenant to Major-General. And during that period, I spent most of my time being a high class muscle- man for Big Business, for Wall Street and for the Bankers. In short, I was a racketeer, a gangster for capitalism.
I suspected I was just part of a racket at the time. Now I am sure of it. Like all the members of the military profession, I never had a thought of my own until I left the service. My mental faculties remained in suspended animation while I obeyed the orders of higher-ups. This is typical with everyone in the military service.
I helped make Mexico, especially Tampico, safe for American oil interests in 1914. I helped make Haiti and Cuba a decent place for the National City Bank boys to collect revenues in. I helped in the raping of half a dozen Central American republics for the benefits of Wall Street. The record of racketeering is long. I helped purify Nicaragua for the international banking house of Brown Brothers in 1909-1912. I brought light to the Dominican Republic for American sugar interests in 1916. In China I helped to see to it that Standard Oil went its way unmolested.
During those years, I had, as the boys in the back room would say, a swell racket. Looking back on it, I feel that I could have given Al Capone a few hints. The best he could do was to operate his racket in three districts. I operated on three continents. Solution: if Berkeley is so anti-american then let's cut them off. No more federal money for anything, freeze all city assets, blockade the city preventing everything and everyone from entering or leaving, cut off their communications, power and water supplies. In short, starve them out and see how long they can last cast off from their financial teat of the federal government. My guess, the city council would hanging in the town square inside a week. The last time I know of, the First Cavalry Division was on its way to Vietnam (1965?).
The demonstrators tried to block a troop train from entering Oakland Army Depot. After about a couple hour's worth of waiting, a young Platoon Leader took it upon himself to fall out his platoon, march them up to the front of the train, and fall them out on the demonstrators.
The results were up in about five minutes flat.<g>
The troops re-formed, marched back to their car, and boarded. The train moved on. <g>
The Army promised to Court-Martial that Lieutenant. I don't know if they ever did.
Would it work again? Probably not today, and definitely not in Berkeley. The best solution, probably, is to wait the bums out. Eventually, they will get bored, and move on. (No pun intended!) |
