Amazing eli pass to toomer?

I thought that was an amazing play!!! I mean eli's forward progress ending while being detained by an opposing player then making an amazing pass. I give it props that it was a good pass and a good throw, but to quote the NFL rule book:
Section 4: Article 1 (in regards to when a ball is dead)
(d) when a runner is so held or otherwise restrained that his forward progress ends.

so where was the whistle. Great play after the play should have been over. (also for the ones who will say he broke away, he was still being held by a pats player when he began moving backwards). Is this the worst call of the game? Or would it have to be the fumble recovery call?

I stand corrected on the receiver. It was tyree. I had been watching a clip of toomer's face mask pushoff, so the name was at the top of my head.

There were only 2 questionable calls in the game, to me.

1: Toomer's long catch down the side line in the 2nd quarter. I think its pretty clearly offensive Interference when you push off the defenders facemask.

2: Bradshaw's fumble/ recovery. The Patriots defender was on the ball, when Bradshaw touched him to take it back, he was down by contact, and its NE football.

he wasnt wrapped up, they just had a hold of his jersey, if u started blowing plays like that dead they would all be over early. besides do u want to be the ref that called that at the end of the super bowl. you would get shot!

Are you talking about the pass to Tyree and his helmet catch? It wasn't Toomer.

Toomer? Are you talking about the sideline catch, because I don't remember Eli being stopped OUTSIDE the pocket. Notice the rule says Runner. A QB inside his pocket is not considered a runner.

The O line was still blocking the guys that had their hands on Eli
If a player still is moving under their own power, which Eli did going side to side, the play isn't dead.

Forward progress calls are always delayed even when it is obvious, just to give the player a chance to get away, and if he is determined to have still been moving under his own power at the end, the furthest forward progress is not taken, the spot of the ball is where his last effort to get away is
