How did I put myself in the crease on a Breakaway? i did not think this was possible... is it?

here's what happened: i split the defense around the top of the circle as i went past the one girl she trips me and as i'm falling forwards a pull the puck around the goalie into the net, then barrel through it myself because i couldn't really stop. the puck was in front of me the whole time. the net came off after the puck was in, but the ref called it a no goal. i told him the puck was in before the net was off, thinking this was the only reason he could do that, but he said that i was in the crease. the puck was in front of me and i was parallel to the ice in the air and i didn't touch the goalie until after i scored. i think that's not the right call... your thoughts? (iihf rules) it's just annoying because it would have changed the game, tied it 1-1 and i would have won the scoring title. i'm pretty sure it was just a homer call, but i'd let it go if there was any merit to it. have you ever heard of someone putting themselves in the crease on a breakaway? is it possible

i mean, what exactly is the rule there? i thought if you had the puck and it is in before you it's ok. i've seen goals like this all the time, have you ever seen any of them called back?

Crappy call. The ref saw it different. If the ref listened to every player compliant we'd probally have more messed up valls. He called it how he saw it.

the ref needs an eye allignment he cant see. It sounds like you are a fast skater.
