The tires of the red Ferrari squealed, as it came around the corner and dove neatly into the space where Jack Watson always parked it. It was in the parking lot of his Beverly Hills store, Julie's, exactly twenty years before, he had named it after his nine year old daughter, that a friend of his had had through artifical insemunation, in which Julie was his biological daugther, but she was not the biological daughter of his ex-husband. That was sometimes a problem in a gay realtionship when you deside to have kids through artifical insemunation. Julie was now a grown and beautiful twenty nine year old daughter that lived in New york and was in her Sophmore year at New York University. It had taken her a little longer then most people to start college, but she had wanted some years after highschool to get her life sorted out before starting out on the journey of college.
The shop had been a lark to him then, something he was going to do for fun, after deciding to give up producing movies. He had produced a few low-budget flims, none of them remarkable, and before that he had spent half a dozen years, after college, working on and off as an actor. His flim career had been relatively minor, filled with all the hopes and promises that never turned out quite as he planned, and too often turned out to be disappointing, but as much as director's and producers were payed these days, you could produce or direct one movie and have enough money to live on the rest of you life. He had over two hundred million dollars in his bank account which the only bad part of that was he contantly had to be on the look out for guys that he was dating that may be just after his money. He grew tried of producing movies and started his own shop, which he really did not have to worry about what kind of business he got, because he had so much money he did not have to worry about having enough money to keep the shop up. He really loved living were gay people were accepted more then anywhere else in the United States.
But the store that he had bought, any woman or gay man in L.A. would have killed to shop there. His boyfriend had helped him with the buying at first, but within two years he figured out that he had a better eye for that merchandise then he did. Every gay man in town, actors, socailites, models, and just ordinay average joe's that happen to be gay with money to spend, wanted to go to Julie's... and meet Jack Watson. He was the kind of gay guy that everyone loved and the gay guys were absolutly gaga over him. Every guy on the sidewalk that he passed that he supected to be gay would always look twice at him. If there was more then one good thing about living L.A. it was that finding another guy to date was definitly never a problem, even if Jack was a little picky. He was a very good looking guy that looked ten years younger then he really was. When Jack went out to smoke his cigarette out on the sidewalk of the store, as many of hundred people would pass him each day as he smoked and more then half of them always made time to say hi to Jack. He had dark brown hair and gorgues facial features and a toned thin body. He had definitly had his share of realationships in the past, and yet he still was not settled down with Mr. Right, and though he was in his late fourties he was in no rush.
Two years after he opened his store, to his suprise, his huband of eleven years left him. And for the past eight years, he had to admit, he still missed him from time to time. He had meet him on the set of one of his flims, he had come to read for him, and spent the next two weeks lost in passion with him in his Malibu cottage. He feel madly in love with him, six months later they were married, and the marriage lasted about eleven years, and one kid, which was the reason that Jack thought that he had left in the first place, because of peir jealousy over the baby being partly Jack's and not at all his. He took another shot at marriage a year later, with a man who was far too smart to have him. He was the only man who had ever made him want to be faithful to him, and for once he had been. He had been in his early thirties then, Eric had been thirty-nine, French, and a very sucessful artist. Eric moved on with his life after two years, Eric was wanting to study and become a artist is France. Along with that Jack made it very clear that he would never leave his country like that. Eric wasn't the type to be held back from his dreams, so he took off in less then a week after the dicussion. The only two things Jack learned from that marriage was to never get involed with someone from anthor country unless their planning to stay an American citzen, and he learned how to speak fluent French.
Jack had been single now for seven years now, and he had to admit that he was happy being single for now, but in the back of his mind he did have the hidden fear of being alone in his old age. He had been eyeing this young guy that comes in everyday around noon, and they always do the eye flirting. Jack knew that he came about twelve thirty so he had started ordering out for lunch and staying there at the shop just to see his guy. The guy was itleast twenty five years old, and Jack was known to date younger guys. His realationships where always like the Deni Moore and Ashton Kuther of the gay world. It was Monday and Jack was back from his two days off and it was going on twelve thirty and his guy had not yet showed up. Jack looked forward to seeing the guy each day and died to talk to him but never did. Even though Jack could have any gay guy in Beverly Hills he wanted, he had his eye on this one. At exactly twelve fourty one the guy of Jack's dreams came in the front door of the store. Jack noticed that there was something different about the guy and then he notcied that he had his hair gelled down today, and Jack was mesmerized at how good looking the guy was. Jack had finished his lunch and was loading up the shelfs with Cashmere sweaters when he noticed "the guy" was walking up to him, he suddenly felt like he was in High School again about to talk to his crush for the first time.
"Hi, do you have a medium in these pants?" the guy said.
Jack cleared his throut. "Actually I belive we do, let me go get them from the back." Five minutes later he was back with a medium in the pants, and the guy was still standing in the same place looking at the Cashmere sweaters.
"Thank you" the man said when Jack reached him the pants. The man turned to go to the dressing room, and Jack went back to folding the Cashmere sweaters.
"What is you name?" the man said as if he didn't already know.
"Jack Watson" Jack said still in disbelief that he had finally talked to him.
"My name is Steven." he said. "I thought it might be you, it is nice to finally meet the famous Jack Watson."
"Oh I wouldn't say famous." Jack laughed.
"You know I have a meeting to go to at one-thirty, and then I'm going to be going to O'Charley's, would you like to be my guest?"
"Are you asking me out on a date?" Jack said.
"Well, whatever way you want to precieve it." Steven said with a smile.
Jack then noticed how very beautiful he's smile is. There was a ackward five second silence.
"Well, what do you say?"
"I would love to"
"Thats great" Steven said. "Meet me at O'Charley's at six o'clock."
"See you then." Jack said as Steven walked back to the fitting rooms.
Jack felt a feeling that he had not felt in quite a while, itleast for seven years. The last time he rememberd feeling like this was when he was in love with Eric. He felt like he was in High School again and his crush had asked him out for the first time. Although that never happened, when Jack was in High School it was from ninteen seventy two through ninteen seveny six. Boys asking other boys out in High School was unheard of in that time period. It was always the girl best friends of the guys that he liked and Jack never rememberd excepting any offers from girls to go out, but he did remember getting plenty of offers.
At six o'clock Jack drove to his Bel-Air mansion to take a shower and get dressed and checked his phone messages and one was from his daighter Julie that said...
Call me, dad I have some exciting news for you, kisses, bye
Jack's mind went on a whirlwind of things that it could be, he could hardly wait to get ahold of his daughter as he dialed the numbers on his cell phone when he got into his red ferrari and started on his way down to O'Charley's.
The phone ringed more slower then usual, or itleast it seemed that way to Jack.
Hello dad
Hey girl, tell me your exciting news
Dad, your baby girl is getting married.
Oh my gosh, your engaged, what the boys name? And why haven't I meet him?
Dad I just meet him eight weeks ago, he's name is Bobby and he is great, you'll love him, when I come home next week he's coming with me.
Good I need to meet this boy, and see if he is good enough for my little girl.

Be good, Bye.
When Jack arrived at the restaurant at exactly six o'clock, Steven was setting in the parking lot in his truck. They both got out and Jack realized that Steven had roses.
"That's so sweet, are those for me."
"Yes, they are for you."
"I love them so much, thank you."
They went into the restaurant and got settled in and the waitor took their order. Jack noticed that Steven ordered a unusal amount of food.
"Are you sure you can fit all of that in that tiny stomach of your's?"
"Yeah I always eat that much when I go out?"
"Wow." Jack said "What you ordered made what I ordered look like nothing, anyway I watching my carbs."
"Nonsense, why would you watch you're carbs?"
"Well, I have this body because I do watch my fat grams and carbs." Jack said. "But never mind that, I just got great news on the way over here."
"Great!." Steven said. "What is it?"
"Just to let you know, I have a daughter." when Jack said that he noticed that Steven's eye's got big, then relaxed again after he told him that she was twenty three. "She told that she was engaged, but the only bad thing is that I don't even know the boy, but knowing Julie he's great."
"That's wonderful, when do you get to meet him?"
"I get to meet him on Monday."
"Wow, just three more days."
"Yeah, she is going to college in New York and she is coming home for her one week vacation and spending it with me and the family."
"Are you still close with your family?"
"Yeah, my mom and dad didn't really care if I was gay, straight, bi, or transgender, they just loved me always for who I am." Jack said.
"Your lucky, I don't have a mother and father anymore, they both disowned me." Jack said with intense sadness. "Thank god, my two brothers still accept me and itleast talk to me."
"I'm really sorry about that." Jack said. "How old were you when you came out?"
"I was thirteen when I came out." Steven said. "What about you?"
"Wow, you came out early." Jack said. "There was no certain age that I came out, parents always knew, you know it was just there."
The next morning, Steven slept in late since he didn't have any meetings until one o'clock. He got up and took his shower, and drunk his coffee while he read the newspaper. He always had the same routine each morning, and sinse he was not have a meeting for later then usual he was thrown off balance for the day.
He was a lawyer, he had been for seven years next month. He had even been married before at the young age of twenty-four. "I guess I forgot to tell Jack that I have been married before, yesterday during our date?" Steven thought as he walked into the living room and turned on "Rachael Ray." He had been married to a guy named Phillip for three years, and they dated for over two years before that, he had thought at the time that Phillip was the one. He came to realize that Phillip had a drinking problem, and it got worse and worse each year. Steven couldn't take it anymore so he walked out, and moved to Beverly Hills. He had had off and on realationships sinse, but none of them had really lasted over a month, or amounted to anything. grammer, grammar, always watch your grammar and punctuation...you have long rambling sentences, missing quotation marks etc............................ |
