My IPod Nano, and Audiobooks?

I listen to Audio books on my Ipod all the time, and most of my books are in one big file rather than 100 differant tracks. Well yesterday I added one of my books( That I have had on my ipod before and had no problems) and now I can not Pause fast forward or reward or it goes back to the first chapter. If I listen to it with out stopping it, it will go stright through, but if I stop ,pause, fast forward or rewind It goes back to a part of the book in the first chapter. I have tried wiping out my Ipod completly and starting from scratch again, but it is still doing this. When I called Apple they said they may not beable to help because I have a 1st generation Ipod nano, and it's old. What is wrong with my Ipod????

I have had this book on my ipod before and never had a problem before. Why now???

make a second copy of the book file. then try converting it to MP3 or AAC.
the option is under the advanced menu.

There is nothing wrong with it, but the format must be wrong for your particular nano.
