What was the name of the toy from the 80s with primary colors that you could fold into a cube?

I had this toy as a kid. I loved it, but it's long gone and I can't remember what it was called. I think there were two identical pieces.

Each piece was plastic, in primary colors (red, yellow and blue). It was made of triangular pieces, all hinged together so it could fold backward or forward. In the fight configuration, it came together into a hollow cube. In another, it looked like a sort of star, with spikes all over it. Both pieces, when fit together just right, made a whole, hollow rectangle, among other things.

I wish I could describe it better. It just basically folded in all sorts of different ways.

If anyone has any idea at all what this toy might have been called, I'd really appreciate it! It is not the Rubik's twist. That one has solid triangles, all in one line, and came in a variety of combinations of 2 colors. Mine was kind of hollow triangles, attached at different sides (not all in a line).

No, it's not a rubik's cube. It's not anything by Rubik's. It can be almost flat sometimes, but with spiky parts sticking up. It doesn't just stay cube-shaped.

I know what you mean. I can't think of the name either. So I'm not much help :)
It's really stumping me now and I can't remember what it was called. I think we just called it the "Triangle thingy".
