Is this what we have to look forward to?

Everyone Republican or Democrat can agree that we have all been very critical of George W Bush and have shown our disappointment in him as a president. My question is I see all over Yahoo Answers and other message boards that when someone is critical of Obama they are called a racist or somehow it is related to his race. IS THIS WHAT WE HAVE TO LOOK FORWARD TO IF HE IS IN OFFICE?

I would hope we have a president that we can be critical of and that we hold high expectations.

A few examples of what I see every few minutes on Yahoo Answers:

No because he's not going to win.

We have January 20, 2009 to look forward to.

I agree. It shows we still have a long ways to go as a country if we cannot leave issues of race, religion or gender at the door when we go to the polls and cast our vote. I for one will not vote for Barak. Not because he is black, but because he is a liberal and I disagree with him on almost every issue. I just cannot see why it is a good idea to pull out of Iraq, then invade Darfur and maybe even Iran. He even suggested striking Pakistan in one debate...

It is not a race thing, and it sickens me that people would suggest it is. Hopefully someday we can all move past this.

He's not gonna be in office, so don't worry about it.

I don't think he'll win the Democratic nomination, but even if he did, he would lose the General Election by a wide margin.

Don't matter who is president people will look for their faults, they make one mistake and people will be all over them

We are not going to find out. Don't you see that the Republicans are throwing Hillary out front for a reason !!! They know that know way is American going to vote a WOMAN into office of President.

When I come on Y!A and ask a question regarding Obama's church, the Trinity United Church of Christ, which is a pro-black organization, people call me "racist" almost immediately. Sometimes, my questions are even removed. So, you tell me?!

If he's elected I doubt it'd be brought up much. Its being used as a political tool to either hurt or help his nomination.

EX.if you dont vote for:

obama, your a racist
McCain, you dont respect vets
Giuliani, the terrorists'll get ya
Clinton, dam sexist bastard
Huckabee, must be a pagen

i am a barak obama supporter, but i don't think that everyone who doesn't support obama is racist, unless they acutally make a racist comment. there are definitely some people who are racists, and don't support obama because of this.
but not everyone. they might just not agree with his views. however, i am willing to hear those complaints if it means obama is in office in 08.
but, there are still those who are actually racist, and don't support him because he is black. today is martin luther king day, people. has our society really gone that far in fighting segregation and racism? i have a feeling mlk would be disappointed.
RIP mlk.

So...what you're essentially saying is: If Obama gets elected as President, white people are going to be unfairly accused of being racists.

Why even post a question like this unless you are trying to divide and conquer. Oh, that's right...that's exactly what you keep trying to do. You want to get Clinton elected so badly that you will stoop to any level, including adding fuel to a fire. This time you're trying to stir up racial emotions.

By now you're probably posting your next jab at Obama while you try to come across all sweet and innocent.
