Another question from the warped side...? |
How do get people to understand the difference in being confident and being cocky? And how is it possible for everyone you meet to like you but at the same time think your an @sshole or a smart@ss? I don't consider myself cocky, more like confident. Not often but occasionally others call me cocky, and it's just irritating as hell. How do you get them to understand the difference. I look forward to the answers, haven't asked a question in a while so I'm brewing up the warped one. but it's coming. it's the handing it back that sometimes get's me here. Most people's sarcasm comes unprepared for returned fire. I keep my wit sharp and ready for anything. i have a friend who's is very confident but comes across as cocky and big headed. i think sometime a person can be over confident and it gives them that I'm god attitude and makes them look like a complete asshole. its very irritating. i still love my friend to bits but i could slap his face sometimes lol. They probably do that just irritate/tease you. Anyone with half a brain can tell the difference. Maybe first of all they don't know the difference. Second; if they call you "cocky' just ask them "where that came from"-just because someone hands you a line-don't mean you have to "take it"-you know-hand it back. As long as the people closest to you know what kind of person you really are it shouldn't matter what others think. Sometimes people who view themselves as confident may not know when to quit with their "witty" comments. And if someone you know really well says this about you then they are probably just trying to get a rise out of you or MAYBE it is their way of letting you know you are taking things a little to far. |
