Would you be interested in a GYM that caters to a young / hip crowd?

I'm looking at opening up a gym called NRG-X. This gym will be like no other you've seen before. I want you to feel like you're walking into a Night Club when you experience this gym. Loud music played by a DJ on a platform, Huge projection screens displaying the latest sports / music videos, modern stainless steel equipment, industrial design throughout. This is gym is not for grandma, it's for the young professional outhere who want to EXPERIENCE fitness and not just see it as a boring quite place you go to get your exersize. I want you to look forward to the ENERGY filled in the place as you go through your daily lives. Spinning, personal training, lockers/showers, and a club style smoothie bar will be available. What do you think???

Hell no. The music would bug the hell out of me. When I jump on a treadmill and run 10 miles, the last thing I want to have going on is a technorave around me.

No thank you. I am only 26 but i feel out of place at my plain old YMCA. I would feel REALLY out of place at a place like that.

i love the idea- but make sure the smoothies are healthy lol or that kinda defeats the purpose! =D

A gym for younger teens/adults is a great idea.
Energy is great.
But dj, projection screens, and sht might be a little far. People go to the gym to work out and excersize. People go to the club to dance and feel energy. You know?

No way. I wouldn't want to sweat my a off in front of total strangers while trying to look "hip and cool". It's going to turn into a pickup joint. Watch out for sexual harassment claims too. People go to the gym to exercise in their sweats. The ones who go there to look cool and 'hang out' while gawking at sweating women are troublemakers.

That's an oxymoron, young, hip crowd, and gym?

Most of the people who go to gym's are out of shape, sure there are those who go to tone up, but most are in need of losing weight.

You can do it if you want, but A) you'll get no one to invest in it B) you'll get few people to go to it C) you could never get people to pay enough to cover your over head.

And I agree, going to a gym with loud music does nothing but break your consintration.


I might ad, trying to even open a gym for young people is a bad idea, because how many young people you know can make those monthly payments?

I like the idea. Every gym out there is catered to individualism - with everyone running with headphones on and keeping to theiselves. This kind of environment will be great for "team workout" atmosphere. You'll want to come back, because your friends will be there, and your friends will expect you to continue to come back. It's like a buddy system. I think it would promote great health.

I think young professionals COULD afford the monthly payments. I see them all the time when I go to my gym.

Will there be a velvet rope too?
