Obtaining business finance?

I am wanting to set up a north east commercial finance brokers/sourcing company, however I need initial investment to get the business started. I have what can only be described as "less than desireable" credit history and unfortunately no bank will entertain giving me funding.

I am not for one minute suggesting I pitch my idea on here, but I was wondering if anyone knew of any private investors/investment companies whom would be willing to hear my pitch or view my completed business plan with sales forecast and give me some much needed feedback or help.

I have tried Business Link and One North East and none of them will provide funding due to the fact that the company will be within the financial services sector.

The first stop would normally be your savings; then a bank but since a bank is no option, try a business angel, angels are smaller than venture capitalists and if they like your plan they will invest in it, well the only thing is they work for their money thus u relinquish some control and mostly lots of it. Your opt out option would be to set a payback period when they will cash out.
