Have you ever participated in a one person/one family boycott of a business?

I am participating in one right now.

McDonald's pizzed me off the other day. I rarely go there bc I rarely feed my kids that junk, but we were in a hurry. I paid extra for the kids to have honey mustard and it was left out. I called back and the manager told me I was being overly silly over 25 cent. So I told her she could shove Mickey d's up her azz. Haven't been back and am not going to go back. This isn't the first time it's happened.

Wal-mart is my next one. I'd rather pay extra than to stand in those long lines for terrible service.

So have you ever boycotted a business? If so, why?

We don't shop at Walmart. they are running the American business out of business to bring YOU low prices. companies can't afford to keep making things here so they are shutting down our factories & moving over seas.

I also ban Wendy's on occasion. what's so freaking hard about leaving mayo off my GD sandwhich?

Yes as a matter-of fact I have; but, it wasn't a one person boycott. I do however agree with your assessment of the customer service out there today. Its down right deplorable. Its as if they expect you to be humbled; and, honored that they even acknowledge your presences. In your case the manager is wrong they are in the business to sell fresh food to the public. His/Her response to your complaint was totality nonprofessional, in with case I'd be taking it right over the top of his head to McDonald's Corporation.

I boycotted a local cleaner's shop here that is no longer in business.
The owner didn't like ANYONE and even got into it with the cops I worked with. She was the meanest heifer in creation and showed it daily.
Her business is caput because the state forced her out b/c of the addition of extra lanes for the new highway they are building. They really didn't need her land, but that's what she gets for being such a hussy!

i sorry but that is to funny. i have done that at a store because i didnt like the people that works in it. everyone in that store thinks they are so much better than everyone else. when you walk in they give you the go to heck look. if you know what i mean. so i dont go there anymore. i rather go to winn dixie then i would that store.

Yup, my grandma took me to go get a haircut once, and they made us pay extra. And they were harsh about her dening it =\
Then she found out how she charged us, but there was still no reason to be that mean.

And we're boycotting the McDonald's down the road. Slow business and not-so-great food.

yes, I did it to Izzy's Pizza because of how I was treated there and poor service. Even contacted the main headquarters of the company, and got no results. Haven't eaten there since and have spread the word to others what I went through.

I did boycott one Pizza shop after eating one of their pizza. I usually can eat pretty much anything but on this case even i couldn't eatthe pizza. It was disgusting not well done & flour was still on the slice. Needless to say i never went back & boycotted the place.

I have one against Starbucks.

They opened a shop near a friends coffee bar, and constantly undercut prices until it drove my friends, and other small coffee bars against the wall, and they had to sell up.

McDonald's....... My Cuz found a maggot in her burger... Manager wouldn't do anything.......

Target........ They don't support the Veterans.

I boycotted all of France, including French fries, plus Home Depot (as soon as the Lowe's opens across the street).

Many times...one was a doctor. We were lucky that other people knew about his practice and joined in very quickly. Next we heard, he was 'teaching'.

never done it but I understand the wal-mart thing

no, but i hate McDonalds too!! The servic there is horrible.I think you should boycott it

NOO!

Nope.

Yes. Sprawlmart

no i don't think so

You had to pay extra for honey mustard sauce? I can send you some free of charge and no shipping or handling either.

I don't know if you call it a boycott but I try NOT to go to WalMart unless I have to. I actually bought something from WalMart the other day that was made in America! I was shocked, I even saved the little sticker so I could look up the company online.

The one place I do boycott is King Soopers (grocery store in CO). Their service sucks, noone will let me borrow one of those stinking saving cards, they hire high school students who stand around and talk to their friends and don't pay any attention to the customer in front of them. Other people who shop there are rude too! I forget the place actually exists and that's the way I like it!

You GO Girl !!!

Yes! I'm boycotting a local pharmacy....A couple of years ago, my Husband was permanently laid-off..We had no insurance,at this point.(I know you despise Wal-mart,Sorry) I had heard about the $4 scripts. We take 5 scripts, total a month. I went to our pharmacy and explained our situation and ask If I could have the remaining refills to take to another drug store, I could afford(I had just gotten the 1st scripts filled and still had 5 refills left)...She told me she would not give them to me..I would have to go back to the Doctor and get them to re-write it for me!! WTH!!

I have insurance now and it will be a cold day in hell before I set foot through their damn doors !!

I would have gladly went back if they had been nicer and a little more understanding of our situation..

I have!
I despise terrible service! I work with the public and there is no excuse for bad service!.....bad management maybe,...
I worked in a local bar and grill...these people thought they were slick!...They had me open and close (like a swing shift), would never allow me to count out the register-ever!
About a month into (part time employee, trying to help out a friend..) employment...the owners tried to accuse me of stealing from the register!!!!! WTF?! I politely explained that there is no way I would do such a thing and had too much experience with money and have never had an issue with this kind of matter before.....and told them I was curious how they could tell money was missing when no one was allowed to count the money!?....well they were pulling money out of their own registers to avoid taxes, blah blah and I assume they needed someone to blame......I walked out very upset (because I was only working for them as a favor to a friend on their behalf) and let everyone know that they did not need my business - ever! They lost quite a bit of business over it as well :)
