Online Business Fraud & Check Card Purchases?

Ok, I was dumb and didn't check on this business on the BBB website or even business review sites, but I'm about 99% sure that I lost a lot of money on a purchase I made through a possibly fraudulent web site. Well, maybe they exist, as one person who reviewed the site said he eventually received his order, but all of the other reviews indicated that they never recieved their purchases.

In any case, I went one step dumber and used a check card to make this purchase. Is there any way that I can have my money returned to me without having to ask their customer service line for a refund?

I already plan on filing reports with all the BBB, the local police departments, and the Attorney General's office. Now, I just want to get my money back. If anyone knows how to work with Bank of America to accomplish this, I would really appreciate the help.

I'm about to sound like a commercial, but your Visa check card gives you $0 liability for fraudulent transactions. It works just like a regular credit card. In fact, by law you are only liable for the first $50, but even that is waived on your Visa check card from Bank of America. There is a toll-free number on the back of your check card. Call that number and follow the prompts. Inform the CSR about the fraudulent transaction and they will take care of everything.

Wow, that really did sound like a blatant plug for Visa. I feel so dirty now.

the first question the fraud department is going to ask is if you authorized the transaction, if you say yes, they are going to tell you to call the customer services department for that company to ask for a refund, question . . . what is the refund policy for the company that you purchased the product/service? if you do not receive the product from the company with in the allowed time you can file a fraud claim and the bank will investigate your claim, good luck
