Is it possible to disute a medical bill and win?

I'm really low on cash and among all my other bills, I've got a $200 deductible due from an ENT I went to about 3 months ago.

I don't want to dispute simply because I'm low on money. The deal is, I went to this guy for this bad chronic congestion (middle ear) I have all the time. He insisted on this crazy painful scope test which he shoved a flexible needle camera all the way up my nose! On top of that, the guy did NOTHING and diagnosed NOTHING for me. He wrote me a scrip for flonase which was the SAME as my GP wrote (that I also had to pay for).

I run a service business, and my customers would stand for far less than this kind of ripoff. I know it might be tough to dispute any medical bills ... but what about when they do absolutely NOTHING for ya? I mean he didn't even tell me anything I didn't know, let alone provide me with relief - but just more pain. Thanks for any help!

Nuts to all this "medicine isn't an exact science". There is no other business out there where you could A) NOT diagnose and B) NOT fix and C) NOT provide any solution at all to the customer (regardless of cost). In any other business if you can't fill A, B, or C then you won't get paid!

I would dispute then. You want to know the truth? I'm about to dispute because I think its too much money and I don't have it. Period. These people all overcharge and they never get what they charge from the insurance anyway.

I don't think you can dispute this and win. You admit he did the procedure even though it was an unpleasant one with little or no value to you.

Medicine isn't an exact science so, you had the procedure done, you have to pay for it.

just wanted to say...i hated that test too!! the guy turned a light on in the camera and nearly burned out my nostrills...ow!
on a more serious not, in some cases, it would be possible but not in your case.
