How to release an employee? |
we are a small business growing, how would i release an employee from working with our company? it would be a lay off just like any otherr company does, however contrary to the othe answers she would not collect unemployment as she is part time. It depends on which state you live in. You could lay her off and then when business picks up she will be rescheduled for work. Just tell her the way you told us. You may, but don't have to, offer a small severance package. Whatever amount you deem fair based on the length of time she worked for you. Its called being laid off. She can file for unemployment and more than likely will get it. Just tell her that busness has been slow and that she can come back when business is booming you lay her off. |
