Is the UK NHS being privatised?

Our local PCT, Primary Care Trust has allowed an American organisation to take over three local GP's surgeries, against the advice of doctors and the wishes of the people that use them. Petitions were signed by thousands but they have been completely ignored. Most believe that it will be a lessening of services and more cost to the patient in the long run.
And less and less care for those that really need it. As this company are in it for the profit they can make, after all it is a business at the end of the day.
Our NHS is completely under threat because this is the thin end of the wedge, and now hearing a government minister say that many local surgeries could go, replaced with polyclinics, larger, more impersonal, and that means the doctors you have a history with will be replaced by some faceless medical
personnel who will not have the one to one facts of your case.
I don't want this to happen, my doctors are good people so why is this happening.

In London, and the 3 GP's surgeries in question have already been privatised. United Health is an American corporation, and is currently under investigation in the US for illegal practices. So you think the rest are safe, no they are not. The doctors and patients don't need this, and to give it all over to private business goes against all the priciples of the people who set up the NHS in the first place.

It is only a possibility. Some GP surgeries may be turned into super centres where you can get all your treatment in one place, i.e doctor, specialist, surgery. This would only be private depending on the services you use nd operations you have done. For the time being though the NHS is not being privatised.

Where are you? That is very scary...why don't you contact The Daily MAil? They love a story like this and may be able to get a politician to comment...have you contacted your local councilor? Look on the daily mails website...contact their newsdesk....there is always someone to speak to with a story....
