Do you know anyone who is hiring directly?

Hello, my name is John. I live in Southern California, Los Angeles Area. Do you know anyone in direct who is hiring? it takes a while through monsters, craiglist, hotjobs, etc, and I only get few phone calls.

I am looking for adminstrative/ secretary work in a bank/ finacial service, law offices/ CPA office, or any business field..
I have around 1-2 years of work experiences. (including volunteer, intership)

If you know anyone in person, directly, could you give me some information? company? job description, website if there is? location? anything is fine. Thank you for your help.. (monsters,com, craiglist, yahoo, hotjob. etc, won't help) I am looking for direct job, or anyone who is hiring.. I am looking for work referals. No Scam, no internet online business please!

I second the recommendation for temp agencies. That's a great way to get started work immediately -- and it often leads to permanent positions.

So, you don't want the prayers of non-Christians?

Have you considered a temp agency? My daughter needed a good job and went to one. Her first job was temporary. As soon as it ended they placed her in another job which ended up being permanent. It's a great job, too! She's in Northern CA, but I know you could do the same in LA. I think she used Kelly, but I know there are lots of other such agencies. Good luck. Edit: I thought of another possibility. Work for a school district. Go to http://edjoin.org/ and click #3 at the top: "by California Region". On the next page, Click the red square at the LA area on the map. On the next page look at the second box that says "Other Positions." Then click all of the jobs that say "Classified..." That means you don't need a teaching certificate. Most of them do not require a college education, although some do. You can do a control/enter and click on all of them. Then look through the jobs that come up. Most jobs pay pretty well. There are lots of desk jobs and other kinds of jobs as well. The ones with checks mean you can apply on line by filling out an edjoin application. Good luck!
