I fell very discriminated because I am a Muslim?

I fell very discriminated?! I I get Hired as a room service Attending in a big Hotel in DC, The Problem is I didn't get the job that I apply for . witch is Front Desk Agent, if u look at my resume u can see that I have over three years experience in the job witch I applied for. I agree to take the offer because I needed a job, The HR manager told me the the job Offer is temporary until my position open, immediately after I get hired. as a room service server. i find out that somebody get my job. never works at the hospitality business.but she's America. I fell really mad, as the HR manager explained to me different and I find out something Else. I went from 15 dollars in hour to 8 dollars. she told me I will be making allot of tip I m not making nothing. I find out that all the White and African American getting the good jobs and as me as a a foreign . getting the hard ones. I fell very mad at my self that I took the job. and that Becouse I am arab and muslim

Get an education and start your own business. Being magnificent is fairly unstoppable.

I doubt it's because you are a Muslim. I suspect it's because your standard of English is not particularly good, and a customer facing role like a front desk agent requires very good communication skills.

I suggest you take some adult education courses in English. You appear to be good, but you're not quite fluent enough.

I have many relatives who are of Arab origin and many who are Muslim (both White and Arab). They all have good jobs, and they all speak fluent English.

Discrimination is against the law. If she told you that job was yours then gave it to someone else. Take them to claims court. As a sister please don't feel bad because Allah is all seeing and all knowing. Do your best at whatever job you have sister and when you find one that suits you better move on. Don't let this experience make you feel bad its those who discriminated against you that should feel bad. Hold your head high, you have done nothing wrong.

It's a better deal than you'd get as a Christian or a Jewish woman in a Muslim country....



Come to think of it, it's a better deal than you'd get as a Muslim woman in a Muslim country.


If I were you, I'd quit whining, and do like everyone else in the States has to do...

Start at the bottom and WORK your way up.

Maybe it is not your race or your religion that is preventing you from success in America. Perhaps it is your ability to communicate effectively in English.

If your resume was an incoherent as this post, I think I have the answer. Try not to play the victim and do a good job and work your way up the ladder.

Allah always said to be patient. And the good will come to you. May it will take you to a better job. You may never know. So trust Allah and be patient. Remember he test us in everyday of our life.

If you can prove that she discriminated against you because of your ethnicity or religion, you have a very good lawsuit.

it could be worse!

It could be your communication skills. Your writing is appalling, and while English may be your second language, you are always going to get beaten to a job by people with better communication skills.

And let's be real, the way you wrote this post shows your lack of attention to detail. You know very well that 'you' is not a one letter word, but you could not be bothered to type 'you' and instead wrote 'u.' This clearly shows a lazy sloppy attitude. Even if English is your second language, you know better than that.

Let's face facts, your religion has an inherent sexism to it. Try going to somewhere like Saudi Arabia, you wouldn't even be allowed to drive a car!

If you want to live in America, stop complaining, work on your attitude, and stop using race, religion or ethnic origin as an excuse for your failures.

I'm not American, and I never had these kinds of issues. And I happen to live in the South, which is hardly the cultural melting pot of DC.
