1st offense embezzlement? Whats going to happen? |
So basically I made a huge mistake that cost me my job and so far lots of money. I embezzled from my place of business total amount possibly adding up to $1000. I've never ever been in trouble with the law before, and I hope to never again. I'm learning my lesson, I went to a lawyer the other day and he didn't really give me much insight considering he couldn't get any from the police since its memorial day weekend. I'm just asking if anyone has ever been in this situation before and can possible give me an idea at what I'm in for. From word of mouth I've heard Restitution for sure and probation. Given that is the first trouble you have been in, I doubt that you will do time. The charge can be handled with a lawyer. It really depends on the business you embezzled the money from they will be pressing the charges; its not a huge amount. Since you never been in trouble before I would imagine you will have to make restitution and get probation or community service. |
