Which is better a bachelor degree in accounting or in international business?

Hi, I am just going to get my associate in business administration at the end of this semester and it is time for me to decide in which major I want to graduate from. In the university that I'm in role, there are just five degrees in business (Acct, Int. Business, Management, Entrepreneurship, and Service Marketing Management). My decision its between accounting and international business but I don't which one to pick :( I would like to know your opinions about my situation. By the way I know that job opportunities strongly depend in the area wher you live, that's why I wanto to tell you al that I live in South Texas so if you have any information about job opportunities in this area in these two degrees, I will be more than grad to here them. It really depends on which interests you, but I can tell you that the job opportunities will be far better in Accounting. I was just talking to someone at a Career Center last week, and I asked her if there were any majors for which she had trouble finding suitable jobs. Her answer was, "International Business. Students all want glamorous jobs abroad, rather than taking jobs in companies and working their way up to the international opportunities, and that just isn't how it works."
By the way, you are "enrolled" at a university, not "in role" at it.

In Ireland, education is not "free." It's paid for by taxpayers, so don't fool yourself.

I recommed going to a JC, then transferring to Washington. It isn't worth going $50K in debt just to do your general ed requirements the first two years Report It

My advice is to do what you love. If you want to work as an accountant, do accounting. If you want to work in International Business, do International Business. That being said, there is more demand for accountants.

However, since it is an associates degree, it doesn't really matter which one you choose. An associates degree is really meant to be taken as a prelude to getting a Bachelor's degree. Most employers in those fields will want somone with a BS or BA -- and will look at someone with an associates degree as equivalent to someone who went to a four year school and dropped out after two years.

I encourage you to go on and get your bachelor's degree.
