Do you have any business ideas for a website?

I am wanting to start a business to make some money, but can't really think of what to do. I was thinking maybe web hosting, but I am wanting some other ideas also please. I have a strong computer background, know PHP decently, apache/mysql ETC, I will end up hosting anything myself on my own servers. But the main issue is I just don't know what to do. I was thinking also maybe resell products from wholesalers but the profit margins don't seem that great after reading up on it, unless you work with chinese wholesalers, but too many of them are scammers and selling counterfiet products. Maybe services I could offer? Products I could sell? Any way I could realistically make money with a website? everything I see seems to be a scam, wanting me to pay money for some crappy E-book, or unrealistic (make riches running a blog, yeah right lol I am not stupid).

Your computer skills coupled with a great web host can take you many places in business. There are a few good hosts out there. I suggest that you take a look at several options. It sounds like you are a "little bit computer savy". Take a look at one of my Websites at http://wattpotteryshop.com I have a Google Page ranking with this site and it is a Bans website. I now have many of them working for me. Go to the bottom of the home page and click on the logo. Read it a couple of times and try to understand the concept. You could make just an info website on anything you are interested in, not selling things. Put Googles AdSense ads on it (like tons of other sites have on them). If anyone clicks on a Google ad, you automatically make money.

There are also lots of sites that will pay you if you have their ad on your site and someone clicks on it.

It's definitely not a get-rich-quick scheme but if you have an interesting site that draws people, it could be automatic income without you having to do a thing (except occasionally update your site with new info).

You could have this in addition to a retail website.
