Do you get prompt service when you go into your bank?


I have recently moved and I used to get excellent service at my previous branch.

The service at this new branch is atrocious. If the staff are not idly passing the time of day with a customer who is also a pal, they are nowhere to be seen.

However there is somebody directing customers to use the self-service tills!

I prefer to do my business with a person and not a machine.

What are your experiences and views?

.if you feel so strongly about the poor customer service - make an appointment to meet with the branch manager to discuss your concerns.

The manager may be very pleased to take your comments on board. It may be that many other customers feel the same, but do not take any action to improve the situation.

I prefer the self service machine as well but probably because I have consistently felt shunned by bank employees. It seems like customer service has really gone down even in recent years. I hope you don't use Bank of America - I wouldn't be surprised at all if you were disappointed by their customer service. I have had major problems with getting someone to help me with my fraud case in which the money has never been returned to me. If you are unhappy with your current bank, write a letter to the corporate office and if nothing happens, change banks!

I am with HSBC and they are always trying to help in person, but recently I have noticed that they are very much trying to show people how to use self service points. I think that is good, as it would help people and cut on their waiting time, as many do not know how to use them or simply do not trust them. I love going to self service point at night, as there are no people pushing and bustling around and I do all my payments and transfers in silence. I love HSBC as much as I hate Barclays. Never good service received there in a year I was with them.
