Cal Poly SLO students/teachers?

I am only a sophmore. By the end of next year,my weighted gpa(9th-11th grade) will be about 3.75. im estimated for 28-30 Act,200+ community service hours, business manager in yearbook, vice-president of my church, job.

I am planning to apply for fall 2010 early decision.

I was wondering if early decision helps somewhat your applications.

PS- im planning to apply for civil engineering.

Early decision just means that you get to know sooner if you're accepted. Generally, they will accept that TOP people that they know would get in in comparison to everyone else.

If you do not get in Early Decision, it doesn't mean you won't get in. It just means that you're border-line. They will throw your application in with everyone else that applied, and go from there.

There's no real "advantage" as in a higher percentage of getting in or anything. It just lets you know sooner if you get accepted during early decision.

Good job with the extra curricular activities. Also, I think I edited and put this into another one of your questions... But... This year Cal Poly accepted 4,454 students for Engineering majors out of 7,791 that applied. But, they also had to turn down 400 Engineering applicants that all had a 4.0 GPA.

It's competitive, good luck. I would also recommend doing the SAT.
