Has anyone bought a buisness?

I'm wondering if you did, what preassessment did you use to buy the business? I'd like to know if anyone used a (marketing) company to assess business(es) volume, profitablility, competition,etc.. If you did use such a service how did it work out for you?

Not a de-novo or start up! His fianicnals are your best play. Get a CPA todo a full blown audit....CAN you read statements? A little trickey if te seller is crafty!An existing business has sales receipts and balance sheet will show inventory held (I am sure). YSee what teh velocity looks like by backing into the investory tunrs. Also need to determine the integrity of teh statements....(not expenses - most lie but that wont affect you). Get an audit done.

Assess the revenue and cost break down all on a per unit weighted average. Then the likelihood to maintain the same variable expenses (forget the fixed as that is the easiest part to making money - cut fixed expenses. Forecasting is really something readily avail. magazines on line, university library over thee net but what? This guy asking a huge premium over the par value of the stock? What is th e break even considering the anticipated capital investment measured in units and in years (assuming sales remain flat).
