Temporary Cellular Solutions - China- Please Help!?

Temporary Cellular Solutions - China- Please Help!?
I am a wireless consultant in the US. The company I represent uses a CDMA network. I have a customer who is planning a trip to China (GSM), and their cell phone will not work overseas on a different network.
QUESTION:
What are some temporary, simple and innexpensive options. They just want to be able to receive and make calls. No data services are needed. I am trying to avoid loosing their business to an international carrier.

My next step is Google... but some advice from a knowledgeable person would be much more informative ;0)

Thank you in advance!

It is cheap to purchase a China Mobile SIM for RMB 50 and charge it with let us say RMB 100, for the incoming call, you will be charged RMB 0.25 per minute while for the outgoing RMB 0.35 pm.However you must must note that roaming charges are pretty heavy.

I bought a cheap unlocked GSM phone from Mobal for $49 (basic with sms capability) that comes with an international SIM card that works in any country, and the number is yours forever. However, the cost of making and receiving calls is high, so when I travel, I switch to a local SIM card which gives me cheap local calls and a local number, but I use that card when I run out of minutes on a local SIM card. In China, you can purchase a SIM card for under 150RMBs from China Mobile (you can find an outlet almost anywhere, including at the airport when you get there). I use the same GSM phone when I travel elsewhere, SIM cards are even cheaper in Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, etc.

China uses GSM so the best way is to buy a cheap GSM phone online or from cheap store. Bring the phone to China and buy a pay as you go sim card

Ebay is a good choice. If time is against you, buy an old model GSM phone from a store.

Or better yet, go to China and buy one!
