Has customer service gone away ?

At grocery stores the clerk usually doesn't say hello or good-bye or thank you and usually they are chatting with the bag boy anyways . Restaurants I get snooty waiters/waitresses that take their sweet time and mess up any special order. Fast food people don't even look at me or say anything but how much my total is . Retail , I can barely get anyone to help me and when I do they don't know anything and sometimes rude. Yet people come into my retail store and expect/demand the utmost highest customer service . Why is that ? Why when you go anywhere else and get treated like crap, do you expect gold treatment at a smaller business ? Blah I'm just bored and ranting . I hate 75% of customers too, they get more rude every day , but I atleast try to be nice . If you aren't happy being in retail, food service etc, find a new job, customer service is not for everyone.

I think it's normal to not have customer service employees be good at their jobs.

1. the pay is too low usually to get good people so they have to take who they can get, and it's a revolving door.

2. most people are not taught manners at home and no one at work will train them either.

3. a lot of customers come in and are rude or expect too much having not been properly trained themselves.

4. Retail is hard, stressful work and it wears people out so that even if you start out good for the day or good in the job people have a tendency to get worn down and burnt out. Combine that with the low pay and low status of these jobs and you can see why this can be true, (bad service).

5. At least they are still speaking english, most customer service on the phone takes place in foreign countries and many of the people that answer the phone are not even proficient in english or have accents that make it too difficult to understand them, but this is all due to the greed of corporate america.

After reading your question . apparently you are right it is not for every body since you HATE 75% of your customers it is not for you either so i think that with your attitude against other people should be redirected to change from within

and that is all i can say

one would like to say that if someone does not like their job then they should find something new to do. That is way easier said then done. Sometimes people have to have jobs they do not like cause there are no other ones around that will hire them.
